Donut Media is back with a new installment in their utterly interesting “Evolution” series, this time discussing a very contemporary subject, the all-new Jeep Wrangler and its predecessors.

It’s not an easy task to compress in a little over two minutes no less than 77 years of history – especially since fans consider each and every Wrangler take to be iconic on its own. The moniker itself has only debuted back in 1986, but of course we can all trace down its heritage right down to the machines that helped the Allies win WWII. Jeep’s off-road heritage is of course legendary, and the styling has also remained a major aspect of the series throughout history – the four generations in their more than three decades have been altered ever so slightly.

The origins of the Jeep Wrnagler go down to the 1940 Bantam Reconnaissance Car (BRC) – a military 4×4 with an astonishing design that is closely mirrored even by today’s Wrangler, and also the blueprint for the original Willys MB, the Jeep CJ5, and the Wrangler more than four decades later. The video spans the entire history, all the way up to the still rumored 2018 Jeep Scrambler that will act as a pickup version of the Wrangler. By the way, we have new info on the latter – including a rumored 6500 lbs maximum trailer load that beats the… Toyota Tacoma. More so, the Scrambler will only be available as a four-door, in base and premium versions, with 3.6L Pentastar and 3.0L diesel engines.
