2017 Jeep Wrangler: Ready For More Options?
There are so many things to look forward to on the next-gen Jeep Wrangler, dubbed the ‘JL’, which include new powertrains, better fuel efficiency, and most notably a compact pickup truck variant.
But what is a Wrangler if not highly customizable? The good news is that one of the world’s most prominent UK-based modifications company Kahn Design is expanding to the US, heralded by the Wrangler.
Kahn has been renowned for its work on the Land Rover Defender among other upmarket SUVs and 4×4 nameplates. In its catalog, the Wrangler is the standout that deviates from this British luxury theme – it is very American and far from luxurious.
Work on customizing the Wrangler is done by Kahn’s subsidiary, the Chelsea Truck Company, and it is called the the Black Hawk Wide Track which first showed up at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
Now more hours are being devoted to making more of that special model of the compact off-roader as Kahn attempts to use it as the spearhead for its US market entry.
There is no more ideal nameplate for the company to plant its flag across the Atlantic, given that almost 80 percent of all Wranglers – which amount to about 160,000 units – have been sold stateside last year.
